Called to London

Our call to the city is an acknowledgement and focus that God positions and leads every believer for His purposes in every place. We believe that God has a great purpose for you and for every person in the great city.

We love to call London “the greatest city in the world,” and truly it is. 2000+ years ago while the Romans were crucifying Jesus outside Jerusalem, those same Romans were paddling up the Thames River to begin the settlement that is London today.

Ever since people have been coming to and going from London to all the ends of the earth. This every nation vision burns in our heart, as we believe we can “reach the world in the heart of London.”

The city represents the major spheres of society including:

  • Government
  • Business/finance
  • The arts/entertainment
  • Education
  • Media
  • Family
  • Social service
  • and Religion.

As disciples we are the “salt and light” in the city, and as we “arise and shine” the glory of the Lord will be seen and people will be drawn to Jesus, and we will see His Kingdom advance in righteousness, justice, peace and prosperity.

Scriptures for the City

Even if you feel that you are only here because the storms of life have washed you up on the shores of London, we encourage you to say “Here I am Lord, use me.”  With this attitude, you will be set for a God-adventure you can only dream of!

What does the bible have to say about that? Here are some scriptures that speak to our call to the city:

  • “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and uses us to spread the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Cor 2:14)
  • “Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there.” (Acts 17:16-17)
  • “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7)

May you indeed be blessed in the city, and be a great blessing in the city!
