Jesus is the centre of everything we do! Explore this page to get to know him or learn more about him.
Who is Jesus?
No doubt, Jesus is the most well known person in the history of mankind. No other person has inspired, challenged, uplifted and transformed so many lives over the course of the last 2,000+ years.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
There is hardly anyone who does not have an idea of, or opinion on Jesus. Some think he was a great man, others believe he was a real change maker. Most people acknowledge that he was a good moral teacher, others reject him altogether.
At Every Nation London, we believe that Jesus is who he said he is: God. God incarnate – God who became human to free us from our sins. To us, this is great news! The bible says: “whom the Son sets free is really free” We are free from sin and free to follow his invitation and live a life for him.
Jesus loves you!
The Bible is the story of God’s love. God IS love. Did you know that God loves you just the way you are? Despite all your faults, flaws and the baggage you’re carrying. Romans 5:8 says that “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners”. That means you don’t have to be perfect for God to love you!
Life can be difficult at times, things go wrong, relationships break and sometimes we make mistakes that make us wish we were never born at all. What was done is done – no one can turn back the hands of time. Right?
Wrong! Because Jesus lived the life we should have lived – without sin – and died the death we should have died – in our place for our sin. God can give you a fresh start! A clean slate! A “new birth”, as the bible calls it. He is only waiting for you to accept His invitation, He is standing with His arms wide open for you. Will you respond and run into His arms?
You can simply pray this prayer: “Jesus, thank you for creating me and making a way to forgive my sins and my mistakes. I admit that I tried to live this life my way, but it hasn’t worked out for me. I feel empty and I need you. I decide right now to stop trying to be the master of my own life, but I make you my Master and my Saviour. I am sorry for my sin, and I run into your arms to receive your forgiveness and full acceptance. Thank you for restoring me to full relationship with yourself.”
The bible promises you in Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” So if you prayed this prayer and meant it with all your heart: welcome to God’s family!
Welcome to Jesus' Family!
If you have prayed the prayer above, or if you’re still unsure, but you want to explore Christianity a bit more, we would love to invite you to one of our church services. Come and get to know our family of believers!
If you are not based in the local area, we want to encourage you to find a church local to you. Don’t live life on your own, let others help you. Whatever church you end up exploring, just make sure that Jesus has his rightful place in the congregation and in your heart: at the centre of it!
We worship Jesus!
Everyone worships someone or something. For some, it is the money they earn, for others, the lifestyle they’re living. Status, power, relationships, family or simply ourselves – we all worship the person or the thing that is most important to us. Human beings are made to worship.
The problem is that we end up worshiping the wrong things. We put our hope and great expectations into that thing or that person, only to find out that it, or they, are not able to deliver. The bible calls this destructive and ultimately disappointing behaviour of the human heart “idolatry”.
The bible promises us that we will find “peace of mind and heart” if we worship Jesus. Why? Because we are made to worship, and Jesus is the proper recipient of our adoration and praise. He created us, He saved us and He is always on our side, a true friend. We are committed to worshiping him because he deserves our worship!
Jesus is on your side
St Paul writes in Romans 8v31: “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”
Jesus is powerful. He created this world and sustains it, no one can overpower Him. He has defeated sin, the devil, and all evil and destructive forces through his death on the cross.
You can trust Jesus. He will not let you down or leave you. He is faithful and loyal, and although at times we feel like He is far away, He never really is. He is never part of the problem, but always part of the solution.
Whatever you are doing or going through, Jesus wants the absolute best for you! He does not tolerate sin, but His grace and forgiveness are always available. He never pushes you away, but He loves you too much to ignore any self-destructive and sinful behaviour. He is committed to see you live the life He intended for you, a life of completeness and significance.
Get to know Jesus better!
We would love to tell you more about Jesus. Come to one of our Sunday services, join a connect group or a serving team – you will find many people who all have a unique story of what Jesus has done in their lives.
Read about Jesus in the bible. Open one of the Gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) and start exploring who Jesus really is, His character, His behaviour, His opinions. We dare you to dig into the bible and not be changed by it!
Speak to Him, today! The bible calls talking to God “prayer”. Whether you speak the words out loud or just in your thoughts, whether you write it down or you talk freely – you can be sure that your prayer doesn’t bounce off the ceiling.
